Nepal's political landscape is witnessing the rise of dynamic young leaders, with Abhibind Khaniya being a notable figure among them. A dedicated youth advocate and leadership trainer, Khaniya has steadily honed his leadership skills, making a significant mark in youth politics. In a notable achievement, Khaniya has been selected to represent Nepal and the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) at the upcoming international youth leadership conference, "Bicameralism and Balance of Power in Germany." The event is set to take place from September 7-15, 2024, in the German cities of Erfurt and Berlin.
This prestigious conference, organized against the backdrop of the upcoming state elections in Thuringia, will explore various aspects of state and federal party organization in Germany. Participants will engage in discussions on parliamentary performance, local politics, European integration, the social market economy, and European history. Khaniya will represent both his country and the RPP, contributing to these critical global dialogues.
Khaniya, who recently represented Nepal at the World Organisation of Student and Youths (WOSY) in Madhya Pradesh, India, and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung School of Young Politicians (KASYP) in Malaysia, is optimistic about the impact this conference will have on his political journey. He believes the experience will further refine his political insights and leadership style, better equipping him to navigate the complexities of modern-day politics.
The conference aims to train young leaders from Asia and Europe, encouraging them to drive positive change in their societies. Topics such as elections, electoral systems, and democracy in Asia; political parties in European parliamentary democracy; modern political campaigning; immigration; and the use of social media will be central to the training sessions. These discussions will provide a platform for young leaders from various countries to exchange ideas and perspectives.
Khaniya's political journey began with his involvement in the National Democratic Student Organization, the student wing of RPP, where he served as General Secretary and Co-Chairman. A student of biotechnology and project and urban development management, Khaniya has established himself as a promising young leader within the RPP. He first entered student politics as the unit chairman of WhiteHouse College under Purwanchal University, actively contributing to organizational building in various colleges and affiliated campuses. Khaniya advocates for creative solutions to the demands of the youth, moving away from traditional protest methods and focusing on constructive approaches to problem-solving.
Beyond the political arena, Khaniya has been recognized with various national and international accolades, including the Vietnam Excellence Award as Asia's Most Influential Youth Leader, Outstanding Youth Entrepreneur of 2022, and the Dynamic Youth Award of 2021. He is also the President of Abhyani Production, a leadership development organization, and has held significant positions such as General Assembly member of Debate Network Nepal and the United Nations Youth and Student Association of Nepal. Additionally, he was crowned Mr. Teen 2017.
As Khaniya prepares to represent Nepal on the international stage once again, he embodies the potential and promise of a new generation of Nepali leaders poised to drive meaningful change in their nation and beyond.
